Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. Her work has been featured on more than 20 studio albums. DiFranco's music is classified as alternative rock, folk rock, but it also has hints of hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco was the very first artist to launch her own record company in 1990. Ani is widely considered as one of the feminist icons. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced in their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The parents of her mother and father were both from Montreal descent. Ani DiFranco wrote and sang 32 Flavors. This song was released in 1995 on the sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. One version of this song can be heard on the 1999 Canadian romantic movie Better Than Chocolate. In 2013, DiFranco apologised after it was discovered that she was hosting an event for three days at the former Louisiana plantation for slaves. The workshop was cancelled, however, she did not express any regret. DiFranco apologized for her mistake a couple of days afterward. While she is known for her role as Little Peoplesinger, she has worked with many musicians and artists, from Pete Seeger through Chuck D all the way to Prince. She lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is a friend of Kristen Ford. At the age of 14 she began creating her own music. The teens she was in were playing them in pubs as well as coffee shops. DiFranco was a student at Buffalo State College after graduating aged 16 from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts.
