sylvester stallone-4-1024x1024Stallone was born in a hospital that was a charitable one located in the Hell's Kitchen area of New York City. Forceps used during his birth damaged a facial nerve, leaving him with a droopy left eyelid and a speech impairment. Stallone spent a large portion of his childhood in boarding care. He was reunited with his family at the age of five years old and relocated with them to Maryland. Stallone was initially raised by his father following his divorce in 1957. But at 15 the actor married his mother and moved to Philadelphia. Because of his previous history of being expelled from school and a lack of discipline, he enrolled in a private school for troubled teens.
